“Just Write.” Just write. That’s what’s been on repeat in my mind of late. Much like Nike’s marketing campaign, “Just Do It.”
Just Write.
Simple. To the point.
Just Write.
The name of the course that we are currently enrolled in.
Just Write.
My friends know that I have an education “problem” — an insatiable desire to learn. To take courses. Yet, there’s a catch this year.
These days, I’ve realized my addiction and am holding myself accountable…I can no longer take a course without “reporting out” on it…without taking “action.” No more gatekeeping. Much more creating. Expect this from me.
It’s been too long since I’ve regularly posted on this beautiful website. Too long since I’ve been honest and up front with all of you, dear readers. I’ve been holding back. And holding back is a form of “stealing,” as one of my mentors says.
Withholding creativity and ideas is selfish. It means holding back new thoughts, contributions, ideas, potential solutions to problems. This is not how I want to live.
If I can share meaningful information — even if it is “simply” the latest coffee shop in DC — it is my wish to positively influence the life of at least ONE reader. Coffee and chocolate truly can provide solace in a busy world. Coffee and chocolate can slow and bend time. I’ve experienced it and hope that this blog can help shed light on this juicy secret for you. We can time travel, together. Join me.
Yes, just write.

Cherry blossoms are here in Washington, DC! Welcome, lovely blossoms!
The Tidal Basin is sparkling with dancing cherry blossoms. They are blooming and reaching peak earlier than expected — this coming week in fact: 18-20th of March. See the beautiful progress of the blooms on the Bloom Cam! Click here for the Bloom Cam!
So far, we haven’t ventured down to the Tidal Basin but we have been seeing amazing magnolias. Those are always lovely. And apropos, have you ever watched Sweet Magnolias on Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
In terms of cherry blossom themed drinks…be on the lookout for our roundup in the coming days! Many District coffee shops are creating beautifully inspired spring drinks to commemorate the cherry blossom season. We’ve already tried Compass Coffee’s infamous cherry blossom cold brew… An other coffee shop that immediately comes to mind is The Royal. In Shaw. Check them out… there’s a cherry blossom drink that could be #1 in the city…
